Intelligence is unrelated to the ability to be hypnotized. The concept of being too smart to be hypnotized comes from the misunderstanding that hypnosis is a trick. Smart people can easily see tricks and scams in life, such as bait and switch ads, con men with deals too good to be true, etc. But hypnosis is not a trick, it is just you using your inner mind effectively. Remove as much stimuli as you can – find a quiet place, no interruptions, no extraneous noises, as little light as possible, and a comfortable place to sit or lie down. Constant white noise like a fan or air conditioning, but beware of the extraneous noises like talking for sirens or doorbells.
