Anger is a normal and even healthy human emotion.

When someone does something wrong and evil people need to recognize that and usually through anger. It allows us to invoke the emotions and strength needed to correct wrongs. But unprovoked anger like road rage is a different matter. That type of anger needs to be controlled. Adults do not get physical. We work problems out with words and discussion, never violence. The best anger manager we all have is our brain. When feeling anger, no matter the cause, the location or the people involved, the best, first thing to do it to think about it, not react. Always take a few deep breaths and think about what happened. It never requires a violent response and rarely should voices be raised. Take in what happened, think it over and plan a thoughtful, concise verbal response. If one is even needed. Sometimes saying nothing is the best response of any.

A couple useful tools in anger management are humor and relaxation. A humorous comment instead of an angry response can lighten the air and defuse the tension greatly. And when temper flares, particularly your own, try to just take a few deep breaths before a response. Deep breathing actually changes your blood biochemistry and calms you down. You can even repeat in your own mind, ‘take it easy’, calm down’ to wait out your anger response.
